Toddler

The Toddler classrooms at The Teaching Tree are designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can explore their growing independence while developing the foundational skills they need for the next stage of learning.

Our Toddler program combines a highly rated, Head Start–certified curriculum with purposeful play, hands-on exploration, and age-appropriate teacher-guided activities. Each day provides opportunities for children to learn and grow through music, movement, stories, sensory experiences, creative activities, outdoor play, and interaction with their teachers and classmates.

During these important early years, our teachers focus on supporting language and communication, social-emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, early problem-solving, and independence. Toddlers are encouraged to express their needs, make simple choices, practice sharing and cooperation, follow classroom routines, and develop confidence as they discover what they can do on their own.

We understand that toddlers thrive when they have both consistency and opportunities to explore. Our classrooms provide predictable routines while giving children the freedom to be curious, active, and creative in a developmentally appropriate environment.

Most importantly, our goal is for every toddler to feel safe, loved, supported, and excited to come to The Teaching Tree each day. By combining nurturing relationships with intentional learning experiences, we help children build a strong foundation for a successful transition into our Preschool program and a lifelong love of learning.
