Pre-K

The Pre-Kindergarten classrooms at The Teaching Tree are designed to prepare four-year-olds socially, emotionally, and academically for a confident and successful transition into kindergarten.
Our Pre-K program combines purposeful play, engaging hands-on activities, and teacher-guided instruction with a highly rated, Head Start–certified curriculum. This comprehensive approach supports development across key learning areas, including early literacy, language and communication, mathematics, science, social-emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and creative expression.
Our classrooms provide a positive, structured learning environment that introduces children to many of the routines and expectations they will experience in kindergarten while still allowing them to learn through exploration, creativity, and play. Children are encouraged to develop independence, self-confidence, responsibility, and self-discipline, while learning to make positive choices and work cooperatively with others.
At The Teaching Tree, we believe children learn best when they are excited and engaged in the learning process. Our teachers create fun, meaningful learning experiences that challenge each child at an age-appropriate level while recognizing that every child develops at their own pace.
Our goal is for every child who completes our Pre-K program to enter kindergarten with a strong educational foundation, confidence in their abilities, positive social skills, and, most importantly, a genuine excitement for learning.
